Fleetcare |
Fleetcare was founded in 1989 as a totally independent motor vehicle fleet management company. From its first days of operation the company has retained its focus on dramatically simplifying the management of fleets.
Its comprehensive - and growing - range of services includes: full-service fleet management of motor vehicles, truck and plant, from acquisition through to disposal, fuel supply, maintenance and fringe benefit tax management along with other services such as salary packaging, finance, registration, driver training and 24-hour roadside assistance.
Fleetcare has a strategy in place to make extensive use of Internet technology and eBusiness to improve business efficiency and provide value to their customers. One initiative has been to publish corporate information to the Internet in order to make relevant information available to clients. This has been done through the development of the my.fleetcare solution.
my.fleetcare is a unique client internet portal and the keystone of Fleetcare's entire fleet management system. my.fleetcare collects, records, validates and electronically reports on data for every one of the thousands of vehicles managed by Fleetcare.
Clients are now able to login to a secure area to view up-to-date dynamic information on the status of their fleet. Other features include the ability for clients to update their own information and to use the online facility for data entry for services such as Fringe Benefits Tax assessment.
The my.fleetcare system was introduced in 2000 as part of a business development initiative following extensive consultation with clients. It has grown and developed since that time and offers a comprehensive management system which is exclusive to Fleetcare. Fleetcare have reported a 96% growth since my.fleetcare's introduction, which the Managing Director directly attributes to the my.fleetcare portal.
my.fleetcare is built on an IBM platform, and uses IBM WebSphere Application Server; IBM DB2; Java; and Java Server Pages.
The use of the IBM technology infrastructure provides the ability to support large databases with high performance and provides a foundation for system expansion.
Regardless of how much growth Fleetcare experiences over the coming months and years, the software and hardware that underpins the portal can be scaled effortlessly to meet any conceivable level of demand from users and clients.
