Elk project finalist in 2007 WA IT&T Awards
09 January 2008
Our 'Skwirrel' project has been announced finalist in the Online category of the 2007 WA Information Technology and Telecommunications (WAITTA) Awards.
The Skwirrel system allows participating Merchants to advertise discounts which can be obtained by consumers via mobile phone SMS. Advantages of the Skwirrel system include:
- Merchants only participate from week-to-week and can change their Offer to exploit latent capacity;
- Consumers obtain only the Vouchers they wish to use and do not need to purchase "books" of vouchers which will mostly go to waste;
- Consumers are encouraged to impulse purchase through advertising of current Offers;
- SMS delivery of Vouchers is instant and convenient.

These awards recognise excellence in the use of IT&T to provide information and services delivery to clients, and the emphasis in this award is on the customer interface, ease of use, user acceptance, and innovation. Winners will be announced on 14 March 2008.
